Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Letters to editor

Letters to the Editor consist of comments on or a substantial reanalysis of an article published in Jurnal Kesehatan.

Letters to the Editor may be edited for clarity or length and may be subject to peer review at the editors' discretion.

Letters to the Editor submitted to Jurnal Kesehatan can be up to 1000 words with a maximum of 2 figures and 7 references.

The journal will waive the article-processing charge for Letters to the Editor, please request this on submission.

Please note: 

  • Letters do not require keywords or an abstract 
  • Must be received within 18 months after publication of articles referenced

Brief reports

Brief reports are a category of scholarly articles that present concise findings, preliminary data, or methodological insights from ongoing clinical investigations. These reports may also describe innovative research models or experimental designs addressing critical issues in healthcare delivery and service. Typically focused on narrowly defined or limited results, brief reports provide timely contributions to advancing medical research and evidence-based practice.

Brief reports should be a maximum of 2,000 words, with no more than 30 references and 3 tables and figures in total.

Policy brief, Ethics, and Public Policy

Policy briefs serve as critical tools for translating complex research into actionable recommendations for policymakers, bridging the gap between evidence and decision-making. In the realm of ethics and public policy, these briefs play a pivotal role in addressing moral dilemmas, equity concerns, and governance challenges inherent in policy formulation. This section examines the ethical dimensions of policy interventions, evaluates their societal implications, and proposes frameworks for just and effective governance. By integrating empirical research with normative analysis, it aims to inform ethical policymaking that prioritizes public welfare, accountability, and inclusivity.

Policy brief, Ethics, and Public Policy should be a maximum of 3,000 words, with no more than 30 references and 3 tables and figures in total.

Original article

Original articles submitted to the journal should present novel research findings or significant contributions to the field of health sciences, particularly in Nursing, Midwifery, and Public Health. The article must not have been previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Accepted types of original articles include:

  • Original research articles based on empirical studies.
  • Clinical trials, experimental studies, and observational research.
  • Methodological papers that contribute to the development of research techniques or instruments.

Review article

Reviews are a feature of the journal that may include, but are not limited to, the following types of articles:

  • systematic and substantial syntheses of specific research areas,
  • evaluations of progress in specified areas,
  • critical assessments with respect to issues
