https://ojs.hestiwirasriwijaya.ac.id/index.php/JSS/article/view/259

Introduction: Gestational hypertension is a leading cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality, particularly in developing countries like Timor-Leste. As a primary healthcare facility, the Sentru Formosa Clinic still faces various challenges in managing gestational hypertension. This study aim was to Analyze the management and policies for handling gestational hypertension at the Sentru Formosa Clinic and formulate recommendations for improvement based on evidence-based policies and practices.

Method: This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review of WHO guidelines, ISSHP, and Timor Leste National Treatment Standards, as well as an analysis of the situation of antenatal care (ANC) services at the Sentru Formosa Clinic including the availability of facilities, clinical practices, and referral systems.

Results: Several key issues were identified, including limited screening tools, the lack of standardized standard operating procedures (SOPs), low healthcare worker capacity in handling severe cases, a suboptimal referral system, and a lack of education for pregnant women. These conditions have the potential to lead to delays in the detection and treatment of gestational hypertension.

Conclusion: Standardized operational policies are needed to improve the quality of screening, initial treatment, and referral systems for gestational hypertension. Implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs), increasing the capacity of healthcare workers, and strengthening the referral system are expected to reduce the risk of maternal and neonatal complications.
Dilma Suzete Bento Alves Pereira

https://ojs.hestiwirasriwijaya.ac.id/index.php/JSS/article/view/224

Introduction: Hypertension is defined as an elevation in blood pressure beyond the normal limit, specifically exceeding 140/90 mmHg. The increase in blood pressure is attributed to indirect causes related to dietary habits and lifestyle, leading to a deficiency in knowledge. A knowledge deficit refers to a lack of cognitive information or non-adherence to recommended dietary and lifestyle modifications. Consequently, educational interventions are implemented to enhance understanding of appropriate lifestyle and dietary patterns. One non-pharmacological therapy that may be provided is education on the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet. This study aim was to provide an overview of DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) education for hypertensive patients with the nursing diagnosis of knowledge deficit, by offering a clearer understanding of the importance of DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) in hypertensive patients.

Method: A descriptive design was used, which is a design intended to improve a knowledge deficit.

Results: There was an effect on the knowledge deficit, resulting in an increase in knowledge and a change in blood pressure. This was evidenced by Client 1, who was able to answer 8 questions correctly on the questionnaire, with a percentage indicating 'Good,' while Client 2 was only able to answer 6 questions correctly, with a percentage indicating 'Fair,' due to factors such as age, education, and environment. Both clients appeared to understand the low-salt diet, and their blood pressure improved.

Conclusion: Based on the results of the study involving two respondents, there was an effect on their knowledge deficit regarding DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) as well as a change in their blood pressure.
Dewi AryaniDesy AnggrainiDindi PaizerM. https://ojs.hestiwirasriwijaya.ac.id/index.php/JSS/article/view/229

Introduction: Pressure ulcers are localized injuries to the skin and/or underlying tissue, primarily caused by prolonged pressure, especially among patients with limited mobility. These ulcers can lead to pain, infection, extended hospital stays, and increased healthcare costs. Pressure ulcer prevention is a critical component of nursing care. One effective non-pharmacological intervention is the use of a clock position, a visual aid designed to remind nurses or caregivers to reposition patients regularly, ideally every two hours. This study aimed to determine the effect on the usage of clock position towards the risk of developing pressure ulcers in bedridden patients at the High Care Unit (HCU) of RSUD Bali Mandara.

Method: The study utilized a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 32 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The Braden Scale was utilized to assess the risk of pressure ulcers. The intervention was conducted in three days using the clock position method, which involved rotating patients’ positions every two hours (supine, right lateral, left lateral) with a 30° head elevation. Data was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test.

Results: The result showed that most respondents were initially at high to severe risk of pressure ulcers, but after the intervention, the majority shifted to moderate and low-risk categories. Statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of the clock position intervention in reducing the risk of pressure ulcer.

Conclusion: In conclusion, a systematic intervention of clock position is effective in lowering the risk of pressure ulcers in bedridden patients. This intervention can be integrated as part of standard nursing care in intensive care settings.
Ni Luh Ayu Sulistiani Tresna DewiNi Made Dwi Ayu MartiniNiluh Nyoman Tantri SwastikaningtyasI Made Dwie Pradnya Susila

https://ojs.hestiwirasriwijaya.ac.id/index.php/JSS/article/view/232

Introduction: Aging is the process of tissue loss or decline in the ability to maintain normal bodily functions. Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling asleep, frequent nighttime awakenings and difficulty falling back asleep, waking up too early in the morning, and restless sleep, even with adequate sleep duration. Insomnia can have negative impacts on sufferers, including physical and mental health issues such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity, depression, and anxiety. Furthermore, insomnia also impacts social and productivity, such as decreased work performance and relationship problems due to emotional instability. Hypnotherapy is a form of healthcare that involves a state of deep relaxation and focus to help patients overcome various problems. In hypnotherapy, the client and hypnotherapist work together to achieve goals. During therapy, the nurse acts as a guide, maintaining full awareness and control over the client. The client will remain conscious during the session, be able to hear the therapist's voice, remember what happened, and even reject suggestions if they don't align with their values.

Method: This research is a descriptive case study design. The subjects were two elderly individuals who served as respondents. The study was conducted in the working area of the Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Luhur Jambi May 27-29, 2025.

Results: Based on the results of the study that has been conducted for 3 days in 1 week for 45 minutes, it was concluded that before the application of hypnotherapy, the results obtained from the two respondents were Mr. S score of 33 and Mr. N score of 35, indicating that both were categorized as severe insomnia. After the application of hypnotherapy, the results obtained from the two respondents were Mr. S score of 22 and Mr. N score of 24, indicating a change that was categorized as mild insomnia.

Conclusion: Hypnotherapy significantly impacted the change in insomnia scores, as evidenced by the difference in insomnia scores before and after the intervention. This recommendation is for nurses to implement independent nursing interventions through complementary hypnotherapy.
Rina OktariaSuryati SuryatiIbim KasmidiYeyen Gustina IrawanPutri Irwanti SariFebri Tri AndiniKintan Resqitha Ekaputri
